DEMAND LOCAL JOBS FOR

MONTANA

at the Clearwater Wind Farm Project

The Clearwater
WIND FARM

At 750 Megawatts (MW), the Clearwater Wind Farm in eastern Montana will be the state’s largest wind development. Phase I of the project is already under construction, but a workforce of local, skilled, unionized Montanans haven't been hired to do this work. The developers of Clearwater can and should do better. We call on the developers, NextEra and Blattner Energy, to commit to hiring a local workforce and build a wind farm that benefits the entire community.

nextera Energy

As the owner of the Clearwater Wind Farm, NextEra Energy is failing Montanans by refusing to invest in our local workforce. How can they seek to profit from our community’s land and natural resources while denying honest wages and safety protections to the hard-working people of Montana?

Blattner energy

Has over $120,000 worth of workplace violations since 2015, including one fatality. Blattner needs to hire a skilled, safe, and local workforce of reliable Montana tradespeople. High-road labor standards are vital to boosting our local economy and delivering essential projects. Blattner must end the displacement of local workers and halt the creation of a race to the bottom in this quickly expanding industry.

LOCAL PROJECT.
LOCAL JOBS.

NextEra and Blattner Energy claim to be hiring local Montana workers at the Clearwater Wind Farm. A tour of the jobsite tells a different story.
